How Doorifi put a Phoenix family on the fast track to their forever home

From Townhouse Stress to Forever Home — How Doorifi Helped Cassie and Brandon

When Cassie and Brandon decided they needed a bigger home, timing was everything. Packed into a small townhouse in Matawan, NJ 07747 with a 4-year-old daughter, two cats, one dog, and a baby on the way, they knew they had to make a change.

“The townhouse was Brandon’s bachelor pad — not really suited to a young family,” Cassie recalls.

Brandon, a patrolman, and Cassie, an emergency room technician, dreamed of a larger home in the same part of town. They loved the neighborhoods of Monmouth County with their quiet charm and family-friendly communities. “I like that where we live, it’s not so urban, but we can still get to the city in 20 to 30 minutes,” Cassie says.

Even so, they worried about the stress of prepping and listing their townhouse while Cassie was pregnant. They decided to wait.

A New House for the New Baby

Once the baby was born and Cassie was on maternity leave, the urge to move became stronger. With no yard for their toddler, a cramped living space, and endless stairs making everyday life difficult for a recovering mom and newborn, the townhouse was no longer working for them.

They found a larger ranch-style home nearby that seemed perfect — a single-level layout with a spacious yard for the kids. The challenge was selling their townhouse and moving quickly before Cassie returned to work.

“We didn’t want to keep our house spotless and go through showings with two small kids. It was physically impossible,” Cassie says. They simply didn’t have the time or energy for a traditional listing.

One day, they heard about Doorifi on the radio. They already knew someone who had sold a home through Doorifi and had a great experience, so Cassie decided to request an offer online.

From Offer to Dream Home in Three Weeks

Things moved quickly from there.

“We received a phone call almost immediately and had the offer from Doorifi the next day. The home assessment was scheduled for the following week,” Cassie recalls.

They did their research, checking local home values and consulting with their realtor friend who was helping them find a new home. While the realtor was initially skeptical, “she was really surprised at how good the offer was from Doorifi,” Cassie says. It matched her assessment of the fair market value. She reviewed all the paperwork with them and encouraged them to move forward.

Meanwhile, their realtor worked to help them purchase their dream home using the proceeds from the townhouse sale.

“We were on an extremely short timeline,” Brandon says. “We wanted to grab the new home before anyone else could make an offer.”

From the initial offer to move-in day, the whole process took about three weeks. The speed of Doorifi’s process meant they could perfectly align their closing date with moving into their new home.

“It was nice, since I was on maternity leave and Brandon was working, that I could handle everything over the phone and email,” Cassie says.

Family Tested, Doorifi Approved

Next came the home assessment.

“We knew that if the assessment revealed any big surprises, we could walk away from the sale,” Brandon recalls. Fortunately, there were no major issues, and the sale moved forward on schedule.

“The whole process was really fair and simple. Everything was presented to us in layman’s terms,” Cassie says. Her realtor reassured her everything looked good, fair, and safe to sign.

Now, after so many big life changes in a short period, the family is enjoying their new space and the peace it brings.

“Our last house was his house,” Cassie says. “Doorifi gave us our forever home.”
