As a veteran and published author, Charlisa Boyd is nothing short of unstoppable. That’s why, despite numerous setbacks, she was determined to sell her home in Marlboro, NJ 07746, and move closer to her daughter and grandchildren.
“We always talked about getting another house,” Charlisa says. “It was just timing.”
Charlisa and her husband bought their home in 1997. Over the years, they considered selling several times, but something always got in the way. In 2008, a potential sale fell through when the best offer came in $40,000 below market value — and replacing their aging HVAC system would have been an expensive prerequisite. After a string of unsuccessful showings, they decided to put the idea on hold.
Nearly a decade later, a new opportunity appeared. Charlisa’s daughter lived in an apartment complex, and a unit had just opened up next door. It was perfect — but they’d have to move quickly to secure it.

The sale moved quickly, and soon Charlisa and her husband were settled in the apartment right next door to their daughter. Now, they can see their grandchildren anytime they want — and they couldn’t be happier.
